Situation:
The National Association of Investors Corporation (NAIC) teaches individuals how to become successful strategic long-term investors. NAIC investors use fundamental analysis to study common stocks and mutual funds. Management's goal was to increase membership 300% to one million investors.

Solution:
CEMg worked in concert with Fleishman-Hillard to create a three-tiered approach. First, the member-only web site needed to be opened up to focus on both current investors, and speak to new potential investors that would join the NAIC. Second, eCommerce solutions needed to be put into place so that membership was easily attained and renewed through the online channel. Finally, the operations at headquarters needed to be streamlined and automated so that 300% growth in members did not mean doubling or tripling staff or volunteers.

Results:
Full implementation is underway. A new ERP system has dramatically reduced manual operations on the accounting side. Business processes that were redundant or complicated have been simplified, reducing cycle time by an estimated 30%. The eCommerce component has been tied to the ERP and inventory/fulfillment systems reducing shipment times by days. We expect to see the new Web site and branding launched in 2005 with a re-invigorated approach to gaining new members.
